今天讀完了St. Thérèse of Lisieux 的 The Story of a Soul, 開卷三個月，今天才讀畢。說實在的，讀的時候有點眼濕濕。
聖小德蘭是法國 Carmelite 修女，過的是隱修院的生活，終年24歲。The Story of a Soul 其實是她寫給院長的信，可視作自傳，另外也收錄了她給其他人的信。
聖小德蘭出身虔誠的天主教家庭，父親本想修道，但因為拉丁文不濟，被摒門外。婚後育有九名兒女，四名早夭，其他的都做了修女。
聖小德蘭在信中表達的信仰十分單純，在日常小事上實踐信仰，不外乎愛、包容、寛恕、服事… 我估這正是她吸引人的地方。太多的神學理論，只是眩人眼目；希奇古怪的神醫預言，或能引人入勝，但終究是微末小節，而且假的不少。不過正如玄學大師一樣，預測流年雖然不準，無礙下年運程書繼續大賣，預言家的預言是否百發百中，似乎沒有人深究，聽眾只不過是想聽，並且繼續聽而已。就像YouTube那些實錘爆料的時政分析，言之鑿鑿卻一次又一次…，但仍然有大量聽眾。又或者那些末日論者，同一套理論，胡扯編造穿鑿附會，不學無術，仍然歷久不衰，聖經在他們手中淪為流年運程占卜書。Give me a break!!!!!!!!!!
聖小德蘭「晚年」病痛纏身，但仍堅持盼望。聖保羅說:
2 Cor 12:9 … “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.(NRSVUE)
對比目下的教會，吹噓人多、神蹟多、預言準確、崇拜氣氛澎湃激動，自我感覺良好，捨本逐末，得不償失。保羅都不吹噓，那些自詡曾靈魂出竅到天堂遊覽的，還不快快悔改！恭引沙漠教父兩則以對：“A hermit was asked how it was that some people said they had seen angels. He answered, ‘Blessed is he who always sees his own sins.’”(15.87) “If anyone speaks to you on a controversial matter, do not argue with him. If he speaks well, say, “Yes.” If he speaks ill, say, “I don’t know anything about that.” Don’t argue with what he has said, and then your mind will be at peace.” (1.23) 用中國香港的官方詞語，是嗤之以鼻。
我覺得，聖小德蘭比那些神醫先知更接近上主。
又及：前車有鑑，著名基督教出版社 Tyndale House 出版六歲小孩天堂遊，一時大賣。出版社這樣推介這書：Tyndale House promoted the book as “a supernatural encounter that will give you new insights on Heaven, angels, and hearing the voice of God.” 十年後小孩公開承認做假，尷尬的是小孩全家、出版社、信錯傳錯的人。背後的淒涼故事詳見：

再抄一次聖保羅的話，Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.
並沙漠教父的話, ‘Blessed is he who always sees his own sins.’
今天或者仍有神醫先知等等等，如果被揭做假，罪加一等，退一萬步而言，即使真有神能異能，又證明不了什麼，也毋須他們證明。耶穌說，
太7:21凡稱呼我主阿，主阿的人不能都進天國；惟獨遵行我天父旨意的人才能進去。
22當那日必有許多人對我說：主阿，主阿，我們不是奉你的名傳道，奉你的名趕鬼，奉你的名行許多異能麼？
23我就明明的告訴他們說：我從來不認識你們，你們這些作惡的人，離開我去罷！
